Child Molester
Records
Sexual abuse is one of the most heinous
crimes ever done by a human being. They not only lead to
physical harm but emotional damages as well which have far
reaching ramifications. Also such crimes now have started
to happen against minor children and it is termed as child
sex abuse. It is normally considered as one of the most
heinous form of crimes against any individual and most
people agree should attract maximum punishments. Such
crimes leaves behind a child devastated. He suffers from a
wide range of psychological, physical and emotional
effects which has been solely attributed to child sexual
abuse. Other effects include anxiety, depression,
obsession, compulsion, grief, post-traumatic stress
disorder symptoms such as flashbacks about the sexual act,
emotional numbing, pseudo-maturity symptoms, and other
more general dysfunctions such as sexual dysfunction,
social dysfunction, dysfunction of relationships, poor
education and employment records, eating disorders,
self-mutilation, and a range of physical symptoms common
to some other forms of PTSD, such as sensual numbness, and
loss of appetite . Additionally, young females who have
been victims of abuse may encounter other kinds of
additional trauma in the form of pregnancy and other
gynecological issues.
Although most child sex offences are considered as heinous
crimes and popular belief is that child offenders attract
maximum penalty but the fact is that in fact the opposite
happens.
Child molestation, like other capital
offenses such as murder, carries a maximum sentence of
life behind bars. But few people who have been charged
with sexual crimes against children serve significant
amounts of jail time. In more than 70% of the cases the
persons accused of child sex abuse do not suffer any jail
sentence. Normally in child sex abuse cases the offenders
are persons whom the child actually knows. Also in 90% of
the cases the sexual molester is actually a member of the
family. In the majority of cases, abusers gain access to
their victims through deception and enticement, seldom
using force. |

Abuse typically occurs within a
long-term, ongoing relationship between the offender
and victim and escalates over time.
While there is a small subset of child
sexual abusers who are exclusively attracted to
children, the majority of the individuals who sexually
abuse children are (or have previously been) attracted
to adults. Children normally tend to hide the abuses
by sheer fear of the offender who normally threatens
the child with dire consequences if he reveals.
Because of the age difference, children are unable to
legally consent to sexual acts. They are often made to
feel like willing participants, which further
contributes to their shame and guilt.
Child abuse records
Normally each and every state or county keeps a sexual
offender registry. This register contains all
information about the deemed child sexual predators
residing within there jurisdiction. The sheriffs
departments normally maintain these registries and are
responsible for updating information about the
offender’s .also they are suppose to do regular
checkups of the offender along with making sure that
the sexual offender follows all court directives. Most
courts restrict the movement of such offenders around
children, schools and parks. It is the responsibility
of the sheriff department to make these offenders
strictly follow these rules.
Child Sexual offender registries can also be viewed
online with the payment of a minimal service fees.
Along with several state sex offender registries there
is a central repository data base containing
information of all sexual predators in the country.
This database is maintained by the United States
department of justice and all this data can be viewed
at its official website. |
